If there’s a piece of advice I could supply you, it’s this: When you tour a residence that you’re thinking about getting, make sure you check the Heating and A/C machine thoroughly! I can’t say that enough… When my hubby and I obtained our first lake residence over a decade ago, both of us were so enthusiastic to be homeowners that both of us skipped some essential steps in the research process, just so both of us could buy the locale and acquire the keys! It wasn’t until both of us moved in the following month that both of us noticed something was totally off with our home’s a/c machine… At first, it was as if the current residence was just working at a whisper and circulating only little amounts of cool air at a time… The next time the a/c machine cycled on, it sounded like numerous different a/c machines started at once, and the airflow abruptly spiked as freezing air came through the residence! It was actually super annoying, as it happened at all times of the day and night. Eventually we contacted this heating and air conditioner machine service firm in town, and told them about what was happening. They sent a professional to our lake residence a day or so later. I was easily amazed at what the professional was able to figure out. Apparently, the compressor for our air conditioner condenser was constantly freezing over, then thawing out so air could blow through the current residence at a cooler temperature. This was caused by the outdoor a/c machine being surrounded by a wooden fence, which the previous owners put up to disguise their a/c machine. The professional explained that the fence had to go, or be adjusted so there was a full two feet of empty space between the fence and the condenser machine. I’m just glad the professional was able to figure out the root of the problem, and abruptly take care of it! Otherwise, both of us would have been miserable in our appealing current residence with a bad Heating and A/C machine.
