I’m the sort of lady who always takes a little while to warm up to a space. I want to make it my own, but I’m held back by the constraints of being so poor & cash strapped all the time. I don’t want to spend up my spare money with decorating or shopping for beach house decor when it might mean the difference between paying all my bills or not. And as such, as a brand new homeowner who desperately wants to settle down into her new space, I’m regularly on the lookout for cheaper ways to decorate my home. Frankly, it’s exhausting. I’m regularly applying brain energy for creative means of decorating, & physical energy to carrying out the ambitious tasks. The work is rather difficult & strenuous, & I am regularly warm. I thought there would be no problem with the indoor comfort levels since I’m always just toiling within the constraints of the central heating & cooling equipment, but in reality I’m regularly toasty warm & gasping for fresh air. I have the A/C set at a conservative 75 degrees normally, but as soon as I start painting the walls or reorganizing the closets, I’m always hastily cranking up the A/C to an crazy level. Abusing the A/C unit feels dirty, but it’s the only way I seem to be able to remain comfortable & totally focused. At least my beach house is starting to look fine, & I’m feeling settled with the Now the only issues I have to worry about is the incoming mail delivery; I may be saving on high-priced designer beach house decor, but the energy bills are going to be through the roof this week.
